— ARKANSAS DEMOCRAT-GAZETTE ‘One Route, Three Histories’ explained The Botanical Garden of the Ozarks in Fayetteville will host the presentation “The Heritage Trail: One Route, Three Histories of Arkansas” from 4: 30-7: 30 p. m. Thursday. The class will trace the Butterfield Stagecoach route, the Trail of Tears and Civil War troop routes through Northwest Arkansas. Participants will learn why all three follow nearly the same path and about life in 1850 s Arkansas. Program presenters include Fayetteville Town Center director Marilyn Heifner; Shiloh Museum outreach coordinator Susan Young; John McLarty, vice president of the Arkansas chapter of the Trail of Tears Association; and John Scott, superintendent of Pea Ridge National Military Park. — ARKANSAS DEMOCRAT-GAZETTE Habitat For Humanity tourney May 16 Habitat for Humanity of Benton County will host the fourth annual Hammer and Nail Golf Classic beginning at 8 a. m. May 16 at Lost Springs Golf Course in Rogers. The four-person, best ball scramble will feature fun events along the course including a long-drive contest for men and women, putting contests and a hole-in-one prize. Mulligans also will be sold. Proceeds from the tournament will help fund the ecological subdivision Habitat Trails, which will include homes for 17 families, a wetlands area and a park. Garfield service hosts big breakfast The Volunteer Ambulance Service will host a Big Country Style Breakfast fundraiser from 7: 30-10: 30 a. m.
