OurTown application deadline nearing Just Communities of Northwest Arkansas’ OurTown Youth Leadership Institute will be July 6-12 at Subiaco Academy. OurTown is a week-long human relations program designed to teach high school students how to create respectful and just communities for all people. The program challenges stereotypes, prejudices and perspectives while providing participants with tools necessary to break down walls of bias and bigotry. Topics discussed include racial, ethnic and cultural identity; stereotypes and discrimination; gender roles; interreligious understanding and respect; community, national and world issues related to social justice; and ways to make a difference in school and community.
