ROGERS — Guests at a May 24 bash at Bonefish Grill snacked on tasty seafood appetizers while eagerly awaiting a sneak preview of TheatreSquared’s 2007-2008 season. Actors Jason Engstrom and Kris Stoker then performed brief scenes from the five shows the company is scheduled to stage from June 30 until next May.

Artistic Director Kassie Misiewicz said the company was excited to kick off its first full season. TheatreSquared, Northwest Arkansas’ only professional theater company, premiered in May 2006 and has presented three shows to date.

The 2007-2008 season will begin with Jungalbook, Edward Mast’s adaptation of Rudyard Kipling’s short stories. Jungalbook will run most days between June 30 and July 7.

Other family shows include Jacob Marley’s Christmas Carol, which debuts around Thanksgiving, and Noodle Doodle Box, which is scheduled to open Feb. 29. For older audiences, the company will perform The Mystery of Irma Vep and My Father’s War, a play written by playwright-in-residence Robert Ford. All performances will be at the Walton Arts Center’s Nadine Baum Studios.

Misiewicz said the company is still looking for sponsors for the 2007-08 season.

Food for the preview party included some crowd-pleasing favorites, such as Bang Bang Shrimp, Mussels Josephine, saucy shrimp and crispy calamari.
