Pope County boy dies in LR hospital

RUSSELLVILLE — The body of a 5-year-old Pope County boy has been sent to the Arkansas medical examiner’s office for autopsy.
The boy had been taken to St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center in Russellville and transferred to Arkansas Children’s Hospital in Little Rock, where he died Tuesday, said Joshua McMillian, spokesman for the Russellville Police Department.
Authorities would not release the child’s name, and an official cause of death was unknown.
