Rogers District Judge Doug Schrantz used the word “ proud” several times while interviewing with us. It’s understandable. Schrantz, who’s running for Division 6 circuit judge, has a history of public service and community involvement anyone would point to with pride.
The public service — which includes tenures as Rogers municipal judge and Benton County district judge — has allowed Schrantz to build an impressive resume. The community involvement indicates, at least to us, that he knows and cares about Benton County.
Ray Bunch also seems to have the experience to make a fine judge. But Schrantz’s background makes him our choice.
The District 6 position is a new judgeship, created by the Legislature during its last session. Schrantz seems the perfect person to shape this court to best serve Benton County.
