BENTONVILLE — Ben Aldama, director of Northwest Arkansas Community College’s Adult Education Department, has been accepted into the Arkansas Adult Education Leadership Academy.
This initiative for program directors is sponsored by the National Adult Education Professional Development Consortium, ProLiteracy America and Arkansas Adult Education, Aldama said.
The pilot project will take place from October to December 2008, according to an NWACC news release.
There will be three face-toface workshops in Little Rock, two online courses and three webcasts.
“ I believe my participation will help me provide leadership to our program, ” Aldama said.
The NWACC Adult Education program serves approximately 3, 500 individuals each calendar year.
Classes are taught at the program’s center on North Second Street in Rogers and in the afternoon and evenings at public school buildings in Rogers, Gentry and Siloam Springs.
Adult Education has five full-time and 17 part-time teachers.
