BASEBALL Cobras seek pitcher The Benton County Cobras, a 10- & - Under USSSA baseball team, is looking to add a pitcher for the 2008 season. Must be 10 years old or younger on April 30, 2008. BOWLING Mixed Bowling League The Mixed Bowling League, which meets Thursday mornings, is getting organized for the 2007-08 season. Bowling takes place at the Rogers Bowling Center a 9: 30 a. m. staring Sept. 10. Openings are available for men, women and couples. This handicap league is not ABC sanctioned and is designed for fun for adults over 50. For more information, contact league secretary Bruce Burges at 855-1593. Tuesday Senior Bowling League The Tuesday Bella Vista Senior Bowling League starts Sep. 18 at 9: 30 a. m. at the Rogers Bowling Center. This is a nonsanctioned fun league. Any couples or singles interested in bowling as a regular or substitute, please contact Lois Remerscheid at 855-1574 or Jack Park at 855-1664. Friday Senior Bowling League The Friday Bella Vista Senior Bowling League starts Sep. 14 at 9: 30 a. m. at the Rogers Bowling Center. This is a nonsanctioned fun league. Couples or singles interested in bowling as a regular or substitute, please contact Lois Remerscheid at 855-1574 or Clarence Merrill at 855-9895. Thursday Morning Mixed Bowling League Bella Vista’s Thursday Morning Mixed Bowling League is organizing for the 2007-08 season. The season kicks off Sept. 13, with the league playing at 9: 30 a. m. Thursdays at the Rogers Bowling Center. Openings are available for men, women or couples. This handicap league is not sanctioned by the American Bowling Congress. The group is designed for recreation and sociability for adults over 50. Anyone interested in playing, regardless of skill level, may contact secretary Bruce Burgess at (479 ) 855-1593.

GOLF Pea Ridge Golf Classic The Pea Ridge Optimist Club presents the 14 th annual Pea Ridge Golf Classic, scheduled Monday, Sept. 1, at Big Sugar Golf Club in Pea Ridge. The three-man scramble event begins with a shotgun start at 8 a. m. Entry fee is $ 60 per person which includes breakfast, lunch, beverages and prizes. Deadline to enter is Aug. 29. Bella Vista Women’s 9-Hole Golf Invitational The Bella Vista’s Women’s 9-Hole Golf Association Invitational Golf Tournament will be held on Monday, Sept. 10, at the Berksdale Golf Course. The tournament is a four-person scramble. Registration and continental breakfast at 8 a. m. at the Berksdale club house, with a shotgun start at 9 a. m. Immediately following golf, lunch will be served at Riordan Hall. The cost for Bella Vista members with activity cards is $ 30. The cost for guests is $ 35. This includes green fees, carts, breakfast, and lunch. Cash prizes for team and individual winners plus door prizes will be awarded at the luncheon. Individual prizes in four flights, include closest to the pin, closest to the line off the tee box, longest putt and longest drive. Entry forms can be picked up at Bella Vista Pro Shops. For reservation, send a check or money order, payable to Bella Vista Women’s 9-Hole Golf Association, to Sue Williams, 58 Elizabeth Drive, Bella Vista 72714.
