Lady Mounties fall to Cabot

RUSSELLVILLE - All-State junior Cherie'Barfield struck out 12 batters and Cabot scored all its runs in the third inning to rally past Rogers 3-1 in the first round of the Class 7 A State Softball Tournament at Hickey Park. Cabot (10-9 ) will face two-time state champ Fayetteville today in the quarterfinals. Chase Todd had an RBI double to score Ashley Brown in the first for Rogers (11-21 ). Both players had 2 hits for the Lady Mounties.
