SOCCER Brasilian Soccer Camps The Brasilian Summer Soccer Camps will be held at Memorial Park in Bentonville the weeks of July 14-18 and July 28-Aug. 1. Last year's camps were sold out and the same is expected again this summer according to camp director Tadeu Dias. With their unique approach in teaching the game, the Brasilian Summer Soccer Camps have become one of the best in the Midwest. Players from ages 4-18 and all skill levels are challenged daily in all aspects of the game, with emphasis on technique. From the first day and throughout the camp, all players are going to be challenged accordingly. Trained instructors have more than 20 years of experience in the game playing and coaching at all levels, from professional, college and high school. Camp instructors also have many years of professional playing experience internationally. The camp will also offer goalkeeper training for all ages and skill levels from coaches specializing in the Goalkeeper Program. The first 500 campers will receive a special edition Brasilian Soccer Camp Ball and T-Shirt. Members of the same family receive a discount - first member full price, second member $ 10 off and third member and after $ 20 off.

NWA Lightning dates The NWA Lightning soccer club has several dates to remember the next two months, including: • Recreational signups are now under way. • Academy Evaluation for ages 7 though 9 is May 19-20; • Competitive team tryouts for ages 10 through 13 is May 20-22; and • Competitive team tryouts for ages 14 through 18 is July 7-8.

Camp dates are June 15-19 (Sunday through Thursday. Cost is $ 375 for residential campers (girls only ages 9-18 ), $ 250 for commuters (girls only ) and $ 85 for half-day campers (boys and girls ages 6-10 ).

Campers ages 9-18 will take part in four full days of soccer instruction, games and other activities. The All-Star Soccer School is directed by Bob Gustavson, coach of the John Brown University Golden Eagles soccer team.
Along with Gustavson, outstanding college, high school and youth coaches as well as college and professional players will conduct sessions. Cost for the camp are $ 455 for residential campers and $ 305 for day campers, which includes all meals, camp T-shirt, a soccer ball, awards and instruction. A half-day camp (8: 30 a.m. to noon ) for ages 9-11 only is available for $ 135.

In-person registrations will be held Tuesday, June 3, and Tuesday, June 10, from 5: 30-7 p.m. at the Ingram facility on Highway 72 in Centerton.
Registrations will also be held June 9-13 from 9: 30-10: 30 a.m. each day during the University of Arkansas Soccer Camp at the Ingram facility.
The league's fall season will be held September through October. The spring season runs April through May.

The Bentonville Recreational Soccer League is for kids ages 3-10 and is split into three divisions - minisoccer for U 4 and U 5, U 5 through U 8 and U 9-10.
Mini-soccer is a six-week, one-hour per week program featuring games and activities that promote comfort and confidence with the soccer ball, designed for younger players to begin their soccer experience prior to joining a league. This level will be offered on a season-by-season basis. Cost is $ 30 per season. Birth dates for U 4 and U 5 are Aug. 1, 2003 - July 31, 2005.
The division for U 5 through U 8 players has a registration cost of $ 30 for the fall season and $ 50 for both fall and spring seasons. Birth dates are Aug. 1, 2003-July 31, 2004 for U 5; Aug. 1, 2002-July 31, 2003 for U 6; Aug. 1, 2001-July 31, 2002 for U 7 and Aug. 1, 2000-July 31, 2001 for U 8.
The division for U 9 and U 10 players has a registration cost of $ 50 for the fall season and $ 75 for both fall and spring seasons. Birth dates are Aug. 1, 1999-July 31, 2000 for U 9 and Aug. 1, 1998-July 31, 1999 for U 10.
T-shirt and socks are included for players in all divisions.

GOLF Boys and Girls Club Golf Tournament The Boys and Girls Club of Western Benton County (Siloam Springs Unit ) will host the third annual Boys and Girls Club Golf Tournament on Wednesday, May 21, at Dawn Hill Country Club in Siloam Springs. It is an 18-hole team event (three-person scramble ) with many other contests, including hole-in-one, longest drive and putting contest. Sixth annual 4 th of July Couples Scramble The Sixth annual 4 th of July Couples Scramble, sponsored by the Friends of Highlands, will be held on Friday, July 4, at 1: 30 p.m. at the Highlands Golf Course in Bella Vista. Flight prizes, closest to pin and door prizes as well as dinner are included in entry fee. Green Fees and carts are not included ) Flights will be determined after play. LACROSSE Lacrosse Club clinic The YMCA of NWA Lacrosse Club will holding an open clinic for new players on Saturday, May 17, at the Jones Center for Families in Springdale. The clinic will run from 10 a.m. to noon and will be an introduction to basic lacrosse skills. The clinic is open to boys and girls who will be in the 5 th through 12 th grades next year. BASEBALL Senior Babe Ruth registration Players interested in playing in the Rogers Senior Babe Ruth baseball program can still sign up. Cost is $ 75 per player. Age group is 16-18 years old. Rogers Baseball Camp The annual Rogers Baseball Camp will be held June 9-11 at Northwest Park in Rogers from 8: 30 a.m. to noon for ages 7-15. The camp will be conducted by Rogers High School coaches Tom Woodruff and Matt Melson. Emphasis will be on self-improvement for players of all skill levels rather than competition. All aspects of the game will be covered. Each camper will receive a T-shirt and baseball camp certificate. Awards will be given. Cost is $ 40 by June 1 or $ 45 after the deadline. BASKETBALL Lady War Eagle Basketball Camp Heritage girls'coach Kevin Ramey will host Lady War Eagle Basketball Camp at the Rogers Sophomore Campus on June 9-11.
