SOCCER St. Nick’s 3 V 3 Classic The second annual St. Nick’s 3 V 3 Indoor Soccer Classic will be played Saturday, Dec. 6, at the All-Star Sports Arena in Springdale. Age groups will be from U 8 to U 18 for boys ’ and girls ’ divisions. Entry fee is $ 130 plus one unwrapped gift. Gifts will be donated to a local organization for distribution to area children during the holiday season. SOFTBALL Fastpitch players needed The Springdale Chicks, a 14 U travel team, is adding competitive fastpitch softball players to fill spots on the 2009 roster. There are girls moving into this team, but a few top-notch players are needed to complete the group. Players should be born in 94-95, bring a high level of intensity, be willing to make a long-term commitment and expect to play a lot of softball. Tournaments are primarily played in northwest Arkansas, northeast Oklahoma and Joplin, Mo. The season is almost year-round with practices beginning in January and tournaments running from March through October. TENNIS Pinnacle Winter Junior Tennis Program Pinnacle Country Club will be running both an indoor and outdoor tennis program this winter. The indoor program will take place at Central Park Elementary on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons in January and February. The class for kids ages 4-6 will run from 4-4: 30 p. m. and kids ages 7-12 will play from 4: 30-5: 15 p. m. The outdoor program will run Monday through Thursday from 4: 30-6 p. m. for intermediate to advanced players. This will be a drop in program as the weather permits. VOLLEYBALL Referees needed The Rogers Community-School Recreation Association is looking for adult referees to officiate games in the adult volleyball league. League games are played on Tuesday and Friday evenings. Referees will be paid $ 18 per game and each referee will usually work four (4 ) games each night. BASKETBALL High school basketball registration Registration for the Rogers Community-School Recreation Association high school basketball program will be taken through Dec. 15 at the Rogers Activity Center. The program is open to students grades 9-12. Cost for registration is $ 50. Players will form their own teams, find their own coach, and are required to fill out a roster and submit it to the league director by Dec. 15. Rogers adult basketball league Rogers Community-School Recreation Association registration for the 2009 adult basketball season will be taken until Dec. 15 at the Rogers Activity Center. There will be two divisions offered: Men’s 6-foot & Under and Men’s Church. The entire entry fee will be due when the roster is turned in. The entry fee will be $ 500 per team. To participate in the Men’s 6-foot & Under league, each player must live or work in the Rogers School District. Schedules will be ready on Jan. 5. League games will begin the week of Jan. 26.
