LACROSSE
NWA Lacrosse Club tryouts
The YMCA of NWA Lacrosse Club will be conducting spring signups for boys on Saturday Jan. 10 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Arvest community room in downtown Bentonville. Sign ups for girls will be held on Saturday Jan. 24 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. also at the Arvest community room.
Boys and girls currently in grades 5-12 are eligible to play and no experience is necessary.This is the first season for the girls team; they will play teams from Oklahoma and Missouri. For more information contact mcmurrin@cox.net or call (479) 855-9324.
TENNIS
Pinnacle Winter Junior Tennis Program
Pinnacle Country Club will be running both an indoor and outdoor tennis program this winter.The indoor program will take place at Central Park Elementary on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons in January and February.The class for kids ages 4-6 will run from 4-4:30 p.m. and kids ages 7-12 will play from 4:30-5:15 p.m.
The outdoor program will run Monday through Thursday from 4:30-6 p.m. for intermediate to advanced players.This will be a drop in program as the weather permits.

Drop-In Tennis for Juniors
This "drop-in" drill session is offered to juniors of all levels ages 10-16 through mid-March. Participants need not register. Simply come the afternoons you can. Drop-In fee is $8 per drill.
On Tuesdays, drill will be 4-5:15 p.m. On Wednesdays drill will be 4:30-5:45 p.m. at the Bella Vista Tennis Center in the Kingsdale Recreation Complex. For more information Contact Kelli at the pro shop at (479) 855-8174.
BASEBALL
BYB annual meeting set
The annual meeting for Bentonville Youth Baseball, the newly formed successor organization to Bentonville Little League and Bentonville Babe Ruth, will be at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 29, in the training room at the Bentonville Fire Department Station No. 1.
The meeting will include a recap of 2008 and a preview of programming for 2009.The meeting is open to anyone with an interest in youth baseball in Bentonville
The station is located on the corner of Southwest A and Eighth streets.Those attending must park in the parking lot on the south side of the building.
BYB registration under way
Bentonville Youth Baseball has started player registration for the 2009 season.
Registrations are being taken online with a credit card at www.bentonvillecalripken.org or www.bentonvillebaberuth.org. Registrations may be downloaded from the Web site (click on the Handout button) and mailed to the address on the form.
The league is open to any child living in the Bentonville School District who is at least age 4 and not more than 18 on April 30, 2009.
In person registrations are scheduled as follows:
· Jan. 10, 9 a.m. to noon, Bentonville Fire Station No. 1, corner of Southwest A and Eighth streets;
· Jan. 15, 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., Bentonville Pizza Hut, South Walton Boulevard; and
· Jan. 17, 9 a.m. to noon, Bentonville Fire Station No. 1.
This year the Bentonville Pizza Hut is hosting a registration and fundraiser night for Bentonville Youth Baseball. Bentonville Youth Baseball will receive a percentage of any pizza purchase (dine-in or carry-out) made between 5-8 p.m. on Jan. 15.
