Paid obituary : William Robert Gaddy

Rogers William Robert "Bill "Gaddy, 79, of Rogers, died May 8, 2008, at his home. He was born Feb. 1, 1929, in Berryville, Ark., to Roy and Lois Gaddy.
He is survived by four daughters: Jeanenne Herr and husband Tim of Hot Springs, Arkansas, Mitzi bird and husband Kurt of Rogers, Sheila Williams of Rogers, and Wanda Doss of Bastrop, Texas; his former wife and friend June Gaddy of Rogers; eight grandchildren: Timothy and Destin Herr of Hot Springs, Mike and Nick Schemerhorn of Rogers, Cory Williams of Rogers, Anita Wessels of Lead Hill, Arkansas, Mitzi Dandridge, and Nickie Wilhelm of Bastrop, Texas. He is also survived by two sisters: Erma Weston of Rogers, and Juanita Meeks of Liberty, Missouri. Bill also had several greatgrandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, and a brother.
Bill's greatest joys were his grandchildren. He taught them to play baseball, cut wood, and how to read a racing form.
Bill served in the Korean War, worked several years for North American Rockwell with NASA and was instrumental in the Apollo program. The day we walked on the moon was an eventful day for America but an especially proud day in the Gaddy household. During the Cuban Missile Crisis, Bill was among the few selected for the elite crew to man the missile site.
Funeral service will be held 11: 00 a.m. Monday, May 12, 2008, at Rollins Funeral Home Chapel of Rogers. Interment will follow at the family plot in Beula Union Cemetery in Eureka Springs.
