Power poles not a welcome sight in this case

Carroll Electric in Rogers cannot direct power in a safe manner by delivering it underground because the city has yet to plan, let alone build, the infrastructure needed that would allow Carroll to do so.

So Carroll is now going to have to string up the power aboveground, where nobody wants to see it. There is a reason we residents have our utilities underground.

Carroll should be mandated to leave the area the way they find it when they need to upgrade their systems. No other company would be allowed to march unfettered across the land.

As for Mr. Dodge, his comment that power poles were a welcome sight when he purchased his home — because it meant he knew he had good electrical service — was ridiculous. It really makes one wonder about the sanity of the man. Steve Womack, as our elected official, needs to listen to what the people want and act on their behalf.
