Steps to a better Bella Vista Here is a countdown of 10 things that could make Bella Vista a much better place to live 10 ) Abolish the Property Owners Association and relegate the duties they have to the city, and let the POA manage the amenities.
9 ) Require a balanced budget from the POA on the remaining entertainment and activities they then control.
8 ) Transfer the water and billing to the city of Bella Vista.
7 ) Assess a $ 75 reporting fee for each "squirrel in a tree, raccoon looking funny, dog wags their tail call"the police receive - or direct the call to animal control. Let the police do the real work needed !
6 ) Get rid of the food and beverage "director "and the golf director, among others who serve no purpose.
5 ) Sell, or look to rid the land of, any golf course no one wants, needs or will support.
4 ) Sell - do not lease - whatever restaurant interests may exist and get out of the way.
3 ) Once the positions that are not needed have been eliminated, divert those resources to the animal shelter, street department and library. 2 ) Give the Architectural Control Committee (or a code inspector via the city ) the power and / or teeth to require that properties are maintained and kept clutter- and junkfree. 1 ) Become involved.
