PRAIRIE GROVE - What was a pitcher's duel for the first four innings quickly became an offensive showcase for both Gravette and Union Christian in the final three innings of Tuesday's championship game of the Class 4 A North Region Baseball Tournament Gravette (21-8 ) tallied three runs in the fifth as Manny Rogers stole home and Quinten Eden delivered a two-run triple. The Eagles retaliated with a pair of runs in the fifth and sixth to take the title in a 4-3 victory.

"We thought we were getting ready to get a roll going," Gravette coach Vernon Scott said.

"Hat's off to their pitcher [Kyle Mathis ]. They got five good innings out of him."

Casey Mikula, the Eagles' ace, came on in relief and nailed down the final two innings.

"I knew we would see Mikula when they got the lead," Scott said. "He came in and nailed the door shut on us. As I've said all year long, the team in the conference that has concerned me the most is Union Christian."

Hayden Przybsyz plated a pair of runs for UCA (20-11 ) with a single in the fifth. Tyler Clark singled in a run in the sixth and Dawson Urrutia did the same later in the inning for the win.
