Austin, Texas Brian Wayne Davenport Brian Wayne Davenport, 51, of Austin, Texas, died Friday, May 2, 2008, following a long illness. He was born July 10, 1956, in Dallas, Texas, to Robert A. Davenport and Helen Talley Davenport.
He graduated from Duncanville High School in 1974. He attended North Texas College and the University of Texas, and was involved in baseball and football in high school and college. He played semipro football for the Austin Texans and also refereed high-school football. He married Karen Diane Klein on July 31, 1982. Before his illness, he was director of custom publishing at the University of Texas. He enjoyed caring for his dog, Ladybug. He was preceded in death by a brother, James Robert Davenport. Survivors include his wife, Diane Davenport; a daughter, Jennifer Breanne Davenport; his parents, Bob and Helen Davenport of Bentonville, Ark.; his father-in-law and mother-inlaw, James and Marcelias Klein; two nephews, Andy Davenport and his wife Nicole Davenport, and Ryan Klein; three nieces, Staci Fincher and her husband Kelly Fincher, Kristen Klein and Jamie Klein; two great-nephews, Trevor and Brenton; and four great-nieces, Gracie, Lucie, Jackie and Mallory. Funeral services were held Monday, May 5, at the Cook-Walden Chapel of the Hills Funeral Home of Austin. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the American Diabetes Association.

W. E. "Wally"Albers, 84, of Bella Vista, Ark., died Sunday, May 4, 2008, at Northwest Medical Center in Bentonville, Ark. He was born March 10, 1924, in Hannover, N. D., to John Albers and Anna Albers. He was raised and educated in North Dakota. He was a World War II veteran, serving in the U. S. Navy from 1942 until 1944. He attended the University of Southern California. He was employed by American Airlines and later General Motors, as assistant zone manager in the Chevrolet Division, for 34 years. He married Connie Lockhart in 1945. She preceded him in death. In 1974, he married Darlene Cooper. He retired in 1984 and moved to Bella Vista in 1993. He was active in the Bella Vista Lutheran Church, worked with the Bella Vista Courtesy Van and was a member of the 18-Hole Golf Association for many years. He enjoyed golfing and fly-fishing. He was also preceded in death by five brothers, John Albers, George Albers, Arthur Albers, Carl Albers and Harold Albers. Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Darlene Albers; two daughters and a son-in-law, Cathy Landrum and James Landrum of Sacramento, Calif., and Elsie Brown of Carmel, Calif.; two stepdaughters, Sharon Williams of Austin, Texas, and Karen Baker of Boca Raton, Fla.; a stepson, Kevin Cooper of El Paso, Texas; four grandchildren, Amy, Onaria, Rose and Heather; six step-grandchildren, Skyler, Russell, Rebecca, Joshua, Ashley and Brittany; four greatgrandchildren, Deshon, Alex, Sienna and Ava; and a stepgreat-grandson, Logan.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, May 9, at the Bella Vista Lutheran Church with Pastor Ronald Pfluger.

Burton Schindler, 80, of Bella Vista, Ark., died Saturday, April 26, 2008, at his home. He was born in St. Louis, Mo., to Ralph J. Schindler and Evelyn Burton Schindler.
He graduated from Northwestern University and was a national sales manager for Sears, Roebuck and Co. He was also a news and feature writer for two Chicago daily newspapers. He served in the Illinois National Guard and the U. S. Marine Corps. He moved to Bella Vista in 1995 and served as justice of the peace for District 10 on the Benton County Quorum Court for three years. He was a columnist and news writer for The Weekly Vista in Bella Vista. He was an elder of the Presbyterian Church of Bella Vista and founder of the Presbyterian Veterans Council. For eight years, he was co-organizer of The Salvation Army Bell Ringers in Bella Vista and was also the founder and twice the president of the Republican Men of Benton County. He was a member of the Bella Vista Men's Chorus for more than 12 years and also served as secretary. He served three years on the Bella Vista Memorial Cemetery Board. He was most recently an active member of the Bella Vista Community Church and was vice president of the church's Men's Club. He was preceded in death by a son, Eric Schindler. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Beth G. Schindler; a son and daughter-in-law, Carl Schindler and Susan Schindler of Lake Geneva, Wis.; a daughter-in-law, Laurie Schindler of Madison, Wis.; a brother and sister-in-law, Paul T. Schindler and Lydia Schindler of Germantown, Md.; a sister and brother-in-law, Martha Schumann Tuohy and Jack Tuohy of Crystal Lake, Ill.; and six grandchildren. He was a graduate of Rogers High School. He enjoyed going to the lake, canoeing and attending cookouts with his family and friends. She worked at Miss Neecy's Day Care in Pea Ridge and was a member of the Church of Today in Rogers, Ark. She enjoyed sewing, reading and gardening. She was preceded in death by a sister, Susie. Survivors include her husband, James Simpson; a daughter and son-in-law, Debra Moore and Gary Moore of Bakersfield, Calif.; three sons and two daughters-in-law, David Collins of Stonewall, Okla., and Sidney Collins and Jodi Collins, and Bill Simpson and Sam Simpson, all of Pea Ridge; three sisters, Sylvia, Joann and Edith; two brothers, Don Billy Gilliland of Arizona and Floyd Lee Gilliland of Oregon; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. James William "Boy"Roberts, 77, of Rogers, Ark., died Sunday, May 4, 2008. He was born April 6, 1931, in Best, Ark., to Altus Earl Roberts and Nellie Mae Oxford Roberts. He was a Freewill Baptist. He served in the U. S. Army during the Korean conflict. He was a member of the Fox Hunters Lodge and enjoyed camping and fishing. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Altus Dejarnett and Artie Kirk.
Survivors include his wife, Helen Relethford Roberts; four sons and three daughters-inlaw, Jerry Roberts and Annella Roberts of Bella Vista, Ark., Larry Roberts and Lori Roberts of Springdale, Ark., Dale Hutson and Jan Hutson of Pea Ridge, Ark., and Ivan Roberts of Rogers; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Ethel I. Stapleton, 82, of Rogers, Ark., died Monday, May 5, 2008, in Fayetteville, Ark. She was born July 19, 1925, in Tyler, Texas, to William Van-Houten and Ethel Boatright VanHouten.
She worked for Crane Co. until her retirement in 1989. She was a member of the Sunnyside Baptist Church in Rogers, where she taught Sunday school for many years. She enjoyed growing roses and irises and writing poetry.
She was preceded in death by two husbands, Charles Wilson and Haskell Stapleton; a daughter, Betty Jean Hudson; two brothers; and a sister.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry Self and Wanda Self of Rogers and Larry Wilson and Leticia Wilson of Fayetteville, Ark.; a daughter and son-in-law, Mary Baxter and Scott Baxter of West Lafayette, Ind.; two sisters, Lela Mae Miles of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Betty Wade of Texas; 10 grandchildren, Kathy Hawkins, Toni Hudson, Angela Ferguson, Joanie Cleveland, Jeremy Self, Whitney Baxter, Courtney Baxter, Rhett Baxter, Channing Wilson and Chaes Wilson; four great-grandchildren, Jennifer Hawkins, Tyler Hawkins, Jamie Hudson and Bailey Ferguson; and a great-great-grandchild, Roper Hudson.

Siloam Springs
Beryl Lawrence Perry, 88, of Siloam Springs, Ark., died Friday, May 2, 2008, at his home. He was born April 9, 1920, in Geary County, Kan., to William Perry and Etta Dempsy Perry.
He was raised on a farm near Junction City, Kan., and graduated from high school in Junction City in 1938. He served in the U. S. Navy as a radioman during World War II and the Korean War. He moved to Dodge City, Kan., in 1947 and worked as a salesman for Munns Medical Supply and Equipment. In 1976, he retired to rural Granby, Mo., where he raised cattle and was an avid gardener. He moved to Rogers, Ark., in 1991 and to Siloam Springs in 2002. He was a football and baseball enthusiast and enjoyed outdoor activities.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Erlene Walker Perry; a daughter, Lana Johnson; two brothers; and a grandson.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Dallas Perry and Melissa Perry of Rogers, Ark.; a daughter and son-in-law, Shereen West and Dennis West of Siloam Springs; a brother, Wayne Perry of Salina, Kan.; two sisters, Bonnie Knapp and Elaine Bethe, both of Salina; five grandchildren; and four greatgrandchildren.
A memorial graveside service with military honors will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 7, at the National Cemetery in Fayetteville, Ark., with Pastor Jason Murray.
