GENTRY ó Eighth grade students at Gentry Middle School practiced their jobseeking skills Thursday in mock interviews with area business leaders.
Students enrolled in a careers class at the school dressed up, submitted job applications and interviewed for jobs ó all as a learning experience to better prepare them for the day when they must do exactly that to obtain employment in the real world.
Students introduced themselves and answered a variety of questions dealing with their previous work experience, grades, skills and longand short-term goals.
ì The students I interviewed did an excellent job, î said Courier-Journal editor Randy Moll, who participated as an interviewer in the mock event.
ì They were courteous, well-dressed and demonstrated an ability to talk about themselves and their goals in life, î Moll said.
