GENTRY ó Kyla Horton, 21-yearold performer from Conway, will be performing in Gentry, Oct. 11, before the Ty Herndon concert.

ì I am a singer and have been since the age of nine, î Horton wrote on her web blog. ì The stage is what gives me my oxygen. I feel alive when I am on it. There is no other place that I feel more comfortable. î

Horton performed for almost four years in Branson, Mo. Then, at the age of 17, she started touring her home state of Arkansas.

ì You can see me at various festivals throughout the state, î she said. ì I try to be somewhere different every Saturday. î

She has performed at such festivals as the Riverfest, Decatur Barbecue and the Tontitown Grapefest, to name a few.

ì I am currently looking for a band and trying to write my own music to discover who I am musically, î Kyla said. ì I hope one day to make music my career because it will be forever my life. î

While trying to make her dreams come true with her music, she is studying at the University of Central Arkansas, majoring not in music, but in interior design.

ì I am enjoying my major but will always love music, î she said.

In addition to singing, Kyla likes to dance, shop and enjoys spending time with her friends and family. Her weekends are spent singing at festivals, and she appreciates having her friendsí and familyís love and support there.

ì I listen to all types of music, î Kyla said. But she loves to sing country rock and music from the ë 70 s, she said.
