Herndon concert tickets still available

GENTRY ó Tickets to the Oct. 11 Ty Herndon concert in Pioneer Stadium are still available from selected members of the Main Street Gentry Chamber of Commerce.
The 8 p.m. concert will be held in Pioneer Stadium ó but in the high school auditorium if the weather is inclement. Advanced tickets are available at the Gentry branch of Arvest Bank, Beverís Ace Hardware, Crye-Leike Real Estate ñ Gentry, Decatur State Bank ñ Decatur, the dental office of Drs. Alan Lamb and Scott Stubbs, Gentry Bank, Gentry Medical Center, Jackieís Beauty Shop, the Gentry branch of Liberty Bank, Parks Lumber, Pioneer Pizza, Smith Drug or from Carole Carver, Clara Garrett or Janice Arnold.
The advance tickets are $ 15. Tickets sold on the day of the concert will be $ 20. Only 1, 000 advance tickets will be sold. The advance tickets guarantee the ticket holder will be admitted to the concert, even if it must be moved indoors. Another 1, 500 tickets ó at $ 20 each ó will be sold on the day of the concert if the weather is suitable for an outdoor event.
Singer Kyla Horton will be the leadoff performer before Herndon. She will sing from 6: 45 to 7: 45 p.m. on Oct. 11. Quilt Fair The Gentry Quilt Fair, a part of Gentryís second annual Fall Festival, will be held Oct. 10 through Oct. 18 at the Gentry Public Library. McKee Foods, Inc., is sponsoring this yearís event, with Guthries Fabric as a co-sponsor. Janie Parks is the event chairman and anyone who would like to enter should contact Parks at 736-2340 for an application. Many of those who entered last year have already expressed interest in participating in this yearís event. Cash, ribbons and prizes will be given away. Ribbon cutting The Gentry Chamber of Commerce will host a double ribbon cutting on Sept. 4. The first will at 10 a.m. at Main Street Antiques. Then at 10: 20, across the street, a second ribbon cutting will take place at the new spa at Hair Benders. The public is invited to attend. Halloween Trick or Treat on Main Street will be from 5 to 6: 30 p.m. on Halloween, Oct. 31. All
