DECATUR ó A three-onthree basketball tournament to benefit the Decatur Booster Club is planned for Sept. 20.

The club has set a goal of raising $ 1, 500 during the tournament, according to Becky Arnold, who is working to organize the tournament, along with Tammy Meeks and new head basketball coach Donny Smith.

Smith told parents he has experience organizing three-onthree basketball tournaments at a parentsí meeting Aug. 25. He said the tournament will be organized in a round-robin format so each team is guaranteed to play four to five games for its entry fee.

There will be a junior-high division for seventh and eighth grade students, a senior-high division for those in ninth through 12 grades, and an adult division for those who are over 18 and have graduated from high school.

Adult teams will be awarded cash prizes and junior- and senior-high teams will be awarded gift cards.

There is a limit of four players per team. Entry fees are $ 45. The registration deadline is Sept. 15. Payment can be made on the day of the tournament with a late-payment fee of $ 10 for a total of $ 55.

Registration and payment may be mailed to the Decatur Booster Club, in care of Becky Arnold, 13790 LC Hickman Road, Gravette AR 72736.

Additional fundraisers for the school are in the works in order to add to the $ 163, 000 raised for the school over the summer. Arnold said a coed softball tournament, a golf tournament, and possibly a 2 k, 5 k and 10 k fun run and walk are still in the planning stages.
