The Fayetteville School District’s adult and community education program will host an open house at its new facility, the former Jefferson Elementary School Building, from 11: 30 a. m. to 1: 30 p. m. Thursday.
The program moved into the building, located at 612 S. College Ave., in late April and opened on May 1. The program is using all of the 1986 addition, the southern part of the main academic building, and the first floor main building.
The facility was first built in 1930-31 and operated as an elementary school until 2006.
Prior to the move, the adult education program was housed at a former Naval Reserve building at 800 S. Church, about four blocks away from Jefferson. The move into Jefferson was designed to provide the program with more classroom and office space.
