Lisa Marie Elrod and John Scott Mathis, both of Fayetteville, plan to marry at 3 p.m. May 17, 2008, at St. Catherine's at Bell Gable in Fayetteville.
The bride-elect is the daughter of Gail Elrod of Peninsula, Ohio, and the late Robert Elrod Sr. She is the granddaughter of the late Josephine and Sterling Shand and the late Mary and Gene Elrod.
She is a doctoral candidate in rehabilitation counseling at the University of Arkansas and is director of Adult Day Services at the Elizabeth Richardson Center in Springdale.
The prospective groom is the son of the late Mary Gilbert and Edmund Mathis.
He has a master's degree in rehabilitation counseling from the UA and is a vocational rehabilitation specialist at the VA Medical Center in Fayetteville.
