A Springdale man was arrested by Fayetteville police on Tuesday for allegedly exposing himself on Dickson Street while kissing and hugging another man.
Mark Aaron Penner, 33, faces misdemeanor charges of indecent exposure, loitering, fleeing, public intoxication, obstructing governmental operations and public sexual indecency.
Officers reported spotting Penner with his pants around his ankles at about 3: 40 a. m. Tuesday on the sidewalk at the northeast corner of Dickson Street and West Avenue. According to a preliminary arrest report, he was hugging and kissing another man, later identified as Edward Coleman, 33, of Fayetteville.
When Coleman noticed officers drive by, he attempted to cover up Penner by wrapping a T-shirt around him, the report stated. Officers approached the two men, at which point Penner allegedly reached down to pull up his shorts and quickly began to walk away. Police ordered the two men to stop, but they allegedly refused and instead began running eastbound.
Both men eventually were caught and were transported to the Washington County Detention Center.
Penner was booked into the county jail on the listed charges and was released on a $ 2, 000 bond. Coleman was arrested on misdemeanor charges of loitering, fleeing, public intoxication and criminal mischief. He was released on a $ 1, 035 bond.
Both men are expected to make their first appearance in the Fayetteville District Court today.
