Dana Nance, a local teacher at Rogers Pre-K Center in Rogers, was recently named Teacher of the Year by Rogers Wal-Mart Store No. 1. Nance received a $ 1, 000 grant for the Pre-K center, a $ 100 gift card to buy classroom supplies and a personalized certificate.
"Our area has fantastic teachers," said Darren Carithers, Wal-Mart Store No. 1 manager. "We are pleased to honor Dana Nance as the Teacher of the Year and to share this great news with our community."
Wal-Mart and Sam's Club associates across the country are announcing the names of teacher winners. One teacher was selected by each Wal-Mart, Sam's Club, Neighborhood Market and Distribution Center through nominations by members of the community during August and selected by a committee of facility associates. Nationwide, more than 4, 000 teachers are being honored.
