Catfish and chicken dinner NEBCO fundraiser
GARFIELD — NEBCO Volunteer Fire Department will hold a dinner fundraiser at 10 a. m. Saturday, May 10, at the Northeast Benton County Community Center, 17823 Marshall Street, Garfield. Eat on site or take it home. Chicken dinner $ 5, catfish dinner $ 6 and all meals include slaw, potatoes, roll and beverage. Meals will be served until the food runs out. Moms 4 Kids will host its first-ever evening event from 6: 30 - 8 p. m. Thursday, May 8. DiAnna Wallace will make a presentation titled, “ Beyond Encouragement: The ABCs of Bringing Out the Best in Others. ” The powerful impact of speaking positive words into the lives of those around us will be the theme of the evening. It will take place at New Life Fellowship, 815 Weston Street. All adults are invited and there is no charge to participate.
Moms 4 Kids plans to begin regularly hosting evening events with future topics including health and wellness, stress-management, parenting, and other relationship-enriching subjects.
Moms 4 Kids meets Monday mornings for the purpose of providing stay-at-home moms with the opportunity to socialize, and for their children to have a regular play date. For information, call Jenna Scates at 451-0277. Quilt Show
First Baptist Church Quilting Club presents “ A New Twist On A New Tradition ” quilt show. The show will be from 10 a. m. to 4 p. m. Saturday, May 10. Located at the Family Life Center of First Baptist Church, 1650 Slack Street.
Admission is free. New and antique quilts will be on display. Quilting demonstration by Linda McKenzie of Sew ’N Sew Quilt Shop. For information, call 451-8192.
