NWA Arkappella Northwest Arkansas' Arkappella Show Chorus will present a holiday concert Dec. 14 with a classic 1940 's flair as a tribute to USO Christmas Celebrations.
The chorus will begin preparing for their Christmas show with a patriotic touch Sept. 8. The chorus welcomes women in the greater northwest Arkansas region who interested in spreading holiday cheer. The women are invited to attend weekly Monday practices from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the Fellowship hall of the First Christian Church in Springdale, which is located on the corner of North Gutensohn Road and West Emma Avenue. The women attending will be on the Christmas show with ArkAppella.
Arkappella Show Chorus was inducted into Sweet Adelines International on April 17, 2008. Members are excitedly preparing for what will be their first official performance as a recognized chorus. They will also be inviting other local barbershop groups, choruses, quartets and dancers to perform during the Christmas celebration which will be held at the Jones Center for Families in Springdale. Sweet Adelines International is a worldwide organization of women singers committed to advancing the musical art form of barbershop harmony through education and performances.

James Bright Chapter James Bright Chapter Daughter of the American Revolution will meet at 1 p.m. Monday, Sept. 8, in the Bogle Room in the Old Bentonville Train Station, at 412 S. Main St.
Ginger Macfarlan, 17, of Siloam Springs, will be giving her prizewinning speech entitled "Our Constitution: Born in Conflict, Nurtured by Debate."
