So many graduations and wedding announcements in the mail. It’s so good to see these young people move on with their lives.

I had looked forward to Mothers Day as a moving day, but illness, flu and strep throat swept through the families so the moving date had to be set forward a little. One day as I was leaving my almost finished house, I left the pick up truck door open while I took some cans of dog food to the barn. They had been rolling around under the seat and were about to drive me nuts. When I go to Codling Corner, mama kitty jumped up into my lap. I had to spend 50 cents worth of gas to take her home. She’s a barn cat but loves to be cuddled so I will have to remember to shut the door from now on.

I got a chuckle when I received a note in the mail and signed, “ Kilroy was here. ” Young people think they have an edge on graffiti. Little do they know that our men, in the 1940 s left Europe plastered with the words “ Kilroy was here. ”

The Pea Ridge city map that I picked up at the newspaper office has sure been a help finding local garage sales.

The fruit stand was opened so I stopped to see how Dale Roney had wintered. Not real well but still up and going. His son is learning the business and will probably take it over.

Did you know Jehovah Witness rings Methodist parsonage doorbells ?

John Miser celebrated a birthday this week, but like Jack Benny and the rest of us, he’ll turn 39 again.

Lee Donahue and family needs our prayers and Ted Weston is spending a few more days in the hospital.

A big tree that sat outside the front door of the Pea Ridge Methodist Church blew apart during Thursday night’s storm and had to be taken down. It sure looks bare out there.

Brightwater Church extends congratulations to Adam Kinney upon graduating from the University of Arkansas this month.

Don’t forget the Mothers Day brunch at Brightwater on May 11.

Brightwater was able to furnish five goats for the overseas mission. They are still collecting pennies for missions and handed out baby bottles to fill with change to support Loving Choices, which is a mission to help unwed mothers.

A new Sunday school class was formed with nine people attending the meeting at Ken and Lana Mangold’s home.

You’re always welcome at Brightwater United Methodist Church and Pea Ridge United Methodist Church. I guarantee a warm welcome.
