Quilts were a means of staying warm and using available resources. First-grade students at Pea Ridge are using their resources to warm the hearts of a family of one of their classmates.
The teachers and students have made quilts to sell at a silent auction to give the proceeds to the family of a classmate with a brain tumor.
Recently students learned about the geometry of quilts from a representative of Shiloh Museum.
With a little ingenuity, a lot of creativity and love, the teachers and students worked with a parent who sews and made quilts to sell.
The PTO gave a donation to help buy the supplies for the quilt. Each class also made a painting for the silent auction which will be Tuesday, May 6.
