Elkins Transportation

Elkins Senior Center van is resuming transportation services for seniors. If you are 60 plus and need to go into Fayetteville for doctor’s appointments, shopping, visiting friends, etc., we can take you. We have a suggested donation of $ 6. 00 for the round trip fare. This is a donation -- you pay what you feel you can afford. We’ll be running the van into Fayetteville on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Please call Jennifer to make an appointment—643-2741. We need several days notice if at all possible. Lunch Lunch is served at the Elkins Senior Center beginning at 11 a. m. Monday through Thursday. Seniors (60-plus ) can eat lunch for a $ 2. 50 donation. The Center is open from 8 a. m to 2 p. m. Elkins Community Center hosts lunch each Friday for $ 4. Please join us. Huntsville Softfall league Men’s fall softball league starts soon at Mitchusson Park in Huntsville. Call Darrel Jones at 738-2584 or City Hall at 738-6607 if interested. Fee is $ 400 and needs to be paid prior to scheduling. Support group “ Breast Friends” Breast Cancer Support Group meets every second Tuesday of the month at 6 p. m. at the Madison County Health Unit located at 709 N. College Street in Huntsville. Not only breast cancer survivors but all cancer survivors are invited to attend the meetings. The next meeting will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 9. Feel free to bring a friend. Fayetteville Family reunion The family of Joe and Leydia Pense Perry is holding a family luau Sept. 14 from 1-5 p. m. at Ozark Electric Cooperative Corp., 3641 Wedington Dr., Fayetteville. It will be potluck so bring lots of good eats and drinks. Plates, cups and utensils will be furnished. Umpire clinic

ASA will conduct a fastpitch umpire clinic Sept. 6 at Memorial Park, Bentonville. The clinic will start at 9 a. m., cover rules and mechanics, and last 5 – 6 hours. Cost is $ 10. If you want to become an ASA or High School fastpitch umpire, be sure to attend this clinic and umpire fall games in Bentonville or Fayetteville.
